Bee Safe Bee Removal | Soffit Hive Removal and Exterior Repair from Ventilation

Service Details

This removal was completed in late October in Round Rock. The hive was established under the exterior ceiling, just below the soffit line. Bee traffic was concentrated around a small vent on the side where the soffit meets the wall. The entry point was narrow, but steady movement confirmed the colony was active inside the cavity above the ceiling panel. I accessed the area from the exterior and opened a controlled section of the soffit to reach the hive. The comb was attached to the underside of the roof decking within the void. I performed a live removal, vacuuming the bees and cutting out the comb in sections to prevent breakage and honey spread. All brood and honey stores were removed from the cavity to reduce the chance of attracting other colonies or pests. The vent opening that allowed access was sealed after the removal was completed. Once the hive material was cleared, I applied a pheromone blocker inside the cavity before closing the soffit. The exterior section was resecured and sealed. Structurally, the repair is complete and solid. The area will only require a coat of paint to fully match the surrounding finish. As expected, some returning foragers were present near the vent location immediately after the work, which is typical following a same day removal.
