Service Details

This service involved a honey bee hive established inside the soffit of a first floor roofline. Bee traffic was visible along a small opening on the exterior, with steady movement in and out that matched mid September activity levels. Since the hive was contained to the soffit cavity, all work was planned from the outside to avoid interior disturbance. Access from the ground was straightforward, allowing the job to stay focused on controlled removal and cleanup. The soffit was opened carefully to expose the hive and surrounding area. A bee vacuum was used to manage active bees while comb was removed in sections. The hive had extended into the insulation, which is common in soffit builds, so affected insulation was removed as the comb came out. This helped reduce residual scent and limited the chance of continued interest in the space. Removal progressed steadily with attention to clearing the cavity as completely as possible. Once the hive material was removed, new insulation was installed in the soffit. The opening was then closed and repaired to restore the exterior surface. Before leaving, the area was checked for remaining bee movement. Some light activity remained from returning foragers, which is expected and typically tapers off as the site settles.
