Service Details

This job involved a honey bee colony established between two interior floors of the structure. Exterior activity was limited, which pointed to the hive being fully contained within the wall and floor system. A thermal scan was used during assessment to locate heat signatures consistent with clustered bees and comb, and reference thermal images were documented before opening the area. Because of the enclosed space and active colony, a full bee suit was worn throughout the work. A controlled access point was opened between floors to reach the hive without extending damage beyond the identified zone. A bee vacuum was used to collect bees while the comb was removed in stages. This kept the removal contained and reduced movement into adjacent cavities. After the hive material was removed, a follow-up thermal check showed no remaining comb, but some residual bee activity continued in the area. For the bees that could not be physically captured, a pheromone blocker was applied to discourage reentry and guide them away from the cavity. The affected insulation was removed and replaced before closing the space. Repairs were completed and all seams were sealed.
