Service Details

This job involved a honey bee hive built into the soffit on the second floor of the home. Access was only possible from the outside, so the setup focused on safe ladder placement and controlled entry into the soffit cavity. After opening the section, I confirmed the hive location and activity pattern, then used a bee vacuum to remove the live bees without crushing them. Once the population was reduced, I removed the full hive structure and cleared out residual wax and debris so nothing attractive was left behind. With the hive out, attention shifted to cleanup and restoration. The insulation in that section had been compromised by the hive, so it was removed and replaced to bring the area back to a normal condition. I checked the surrounding soffit framing for any remaining material and sealed the cavity once it was clean. This step is important to limit scent carryover that can draw future scouts. The exterior repair followed right after. The soffit opening was closed, secured, and finished to match the existing surface. Structurally, the area is sound and weather tight. Visually, it blends in well and only needs a coat of paint to look fully finished again. Bee traffic tapered off gradually, which is expected as remaining foragers returned and dispersed over time.
