Service Details

This job involved a honey bee colony established inside the first floor soffit of the structure. Bee movement was visible along the lower roof edge, which helped narrow down the hive location early. A thermal scan was used during assessment, and the images clearly showed a concentrated heat pattern inside the soffit cavity. The thermal photo helped confirm the hive boundaries and allowed the opening to be kept precise. Access was gained by removing a controlled section of soffit using the existing materials. A bee vacuum was used throughout the removal to manage bee movement while the hive and comb were taken out in stages. This kept the work contained and prevented bees from spreading into adjacent sections. Once the hive was fully removed, the cavity was cleaned and checked again to confirm no remaining activity. The insulation in the affected area had been compromised and was removed and replaced before closing the soffit. Repairs were completed using the same soffit materials that were taken down, allowing the area to be rebuilt to match the original finish. Final inspection showed no continued bee activity, and the soffit was restored cleanly and securely.
